Solana has collaborated with Devfolio and Superpumped to organize an exclusive Hackathon for Indian developers. There will be over $80,000 in prizes available to be won. The hackathon, dubbed Building out Loud, is part of Solana’s initiative to reach India’s ever-growing open source community.
The Building out Loud hackathon registration opened on July 26, 2021, and will close on August 12, 2021. The hackathon is open to anyone interested in the crypto space. Therefore, it provides an excellent opportunity for India’s Web2 and Web3 developers and students looking to make their break in the blockchain world.
What to Expect from the Exclusive Hackathon
Solana will start accepting project submissions on August 13, 2021, after registration closes. You are open to submit anything that can be built on the Solana blockchain. Participants can try out NFTs, DeFi, gaming, among other protocols that fit in the crypto and Web3 universe. What’s more, the platform will also allow participants to join as a team — a maximum of 6 per team.
In their announcement on Twitter, Solana claims that the hackathon is targeting both experienced developers and India’s young generation of entrepreneurs and blockchain enthusiasts. The Solana platform is a tool for growth. It is especially ideal for upcoming decentralized exchanges and payment networks looking for a secure and censorship-resistant platform. Unsurprisingly, Solana is willing to support all successful applicants with a dedicated discord server and developer tooling resources to help them actualize their ideas. Even better, Solana’s developers will be present for Q&As throughout the hackathon.
What’s in for the Successful Projects
A blockbuster bench of judges, including Solana’s Co-Founder Raj Gokal and Republic’s Director of Token Offerings Graham Friedman, will assess the projects.
The 1st, runners-up, and 3rd placed winning projects will receive $10,000, $7,000, and $5,000, respectively. Besides, the Solana community will also vote for their favorite project, with the winner bagging $10,000. In addition, Solana’s partners, including Bitclout, Serum Dex, Lightspeed India, and Superpumped, have offered special prizes for developers who create projects that integrate to their specific platforms.
Replicating the Success of Solana Season Hackathon
Building out Loud comes barely a month after Solana completed their million-dollar Solana Season Hackathon competition. The competition registered over 13,000 builders and 350 teams working on blockchain projects such as DeFi, Web3, and NFTs. Solana hopes to replicate the success of Solana Season with India’s Buiding out Loud hackathon.
Above all, the Building out Loud hackathon will help upcoming developers raise capital for their new projects. Besides, the hackathon will convince more mainstream users to join Solana’s ecosystem.
