The upcoming Phantasia platform will be taking Fantasy Sports by storm. At its core, Phantasia aims to provide the everyday Fantasy Sports player a platform to not only play against each other but also the ability to make and take bets with their friends. What’s better than Fantasy Sports and a few side bets to make the big game a little more exciting?
A Standout in the Crypto Game
Unlike many other Blockchain applications coming out today, Phantasia doesn’t intend to shove Crypto down the throats of its end users. In fact, the Phantasia team aims to make the platform as user-friendly as possible with Blockchain quietly powering the system in the background. The result is a seamless fantasy sports platform where users don’t need to worry about the logistics or nuances of Blockchain. How is the team intending to pull this off?
To execute on their vision, the Phantasia team needed a backend solution that emphasizes appealing to the everyday end-user, low transaction fees, and scalability. Solana checks all these key boxes. What’s awesome is that Solana itself is also working to appeal to the non-crypto crowd. Solana understands that if a Blockchain app is to succeed, it’d need the average person’s support.
How the Platform Works
The Phantasia platform hosts fantasy leagues and enables betting between users. The platform collects a standard 5% rake fee from the winners of all bets placed on the platform to sustain these features. The revenue from the rake fee is then distributed to everyone staking FANT, Phantasia’s utility token. If you needed another reason to hold FANT, it also lowers the rake fee for players that hold the token. All of this is securely built and enabled on the Solana Blockchain.
The Key Players of Phantasia
The Phantasia ecosystem has two types of primary users – the traditional player and the investor.
The traditional player is your average fantasy sports fan. These users don’t need in-depth knowledge of Crypto. On Phantasia, they’ll be able to manage and participate in fantasy leagues. Additionally, Phantasia allows these users to create proposition bets and standard bets within their league, adding a little extra fun to the game. Initially, these users will be able to open and place bets with FANT & other cryptocurrencies.
The other key users are the investors. The investors are players and other FANT token holders that stake their FANT on the Phantasia platform. There are some basic Crypto concepts needed to be an investor user but nothing too complex. These users receive a portion of the platform-generated rake revenue based on how much FANT they’ve staked and can withdraw from the staked vault at any time, giving them complete control over their funds.
Join the Phantasia Beta Movement
Phantasia will be releasing a private beta before September 8, 2021 – which is before the start of the NFL 21-22 Season. The private beta is limited to individuals who sign up via the official Phantasia website. Spots are limited so make sure to sign up as soon as you can.
Initially, the platform will feature daily fantasy sports for the NFL. Beta users will be provided FANT tokens on the test net to play with and bet against each other in tournaments hosted by the Phantasia team. At the end of the beta period, winners can expect to receive prizes and all players will be solicited for feedback to help improve the experience. Word on the street is that the Phantasia team has a few surprises for those that provide the best feedback, so be sure to share your thoughts!
What’s Up Next in the Lineup
After the initial beta launch of daily fantasy NFL, the Phantasia team plans to add additional daily fantasy sports and release a public alpha after reviewing all feedback and conducting a comprehensive security audit with a trusted third-party firm.
Additionally, what’s a winner without a trophy? Throughout the public alpha, Phantasia will be hosting tournaments with NFT trophies. To make things even more interesting, the Phantasia team is also working to give tech-savvy players the ability to create their own private tournaments with private NFT trophies!
Lastly, for those that enjoy full-season fantasy leagues rest assured, the game option is expected in 2022 and development is already in flight. The team cannot wait to share what they’ve been building with you!
Again, if you’re as excited as we are for the release of Phantasia, make sure to join the waiting list for the private beta on the project’s official website!
